Solar Energy

The usage of renewable energies such as wind or solar energies is growing rapidly at the industrial and residential levels. For hot climate countries with no conventional energy sources, the usage of solar energy can play a major role in reducing the high living costs of the population due to the usage of conventional energy sources such as petrol or gas.   In addition, the usage of solar energy impacts positively the environment as this is a very clean source of energy. For these reasons, it is beneficial to maximize the usage of solar energy either for heating or electricity. To do so, it is necessary to optimize the design of the photovoltaic panels receiving the sun radiations.  Such optimization can be affected by size of the panels, the position of the panels, thermal losses……. Wind speed and direction can also affect the efficiency of the PV Panels as well as the structure of the panel supports.

At EASTechnology, we use Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) to evaluate a wide range of parameters that could affect adversely the efficiency of the PV panels.  We can help designers and engineers to assess the following:

  • Effect of wind speed and directions
  • Flow around PV panels
  • Drag and lift exerted on the panels
  • Thermal analysis
  • Structure analysis
